Scented Tin Candles - Wild Gorse

1 item left

That coconut, vanilla scent that you sometimes catch while walking the Anglesey Coast Path isn’t imagined. Gorse is such a staple of Anglesey beaches and hedgerows, and its sunshine-yellow, edible flowers are a favourite amongst locals and visitors alike. This deliciously sweet scent by St Eval recreates the natural perfume and is a great choice for anyone who likes a slightly tropical fragrance.

On the North coast of Cornwall (not far from Padstow or Newquay, for those who know the area), St. Eval is a coastal town that has been put on the map by the small business behind these traditional candles. Beginning as a cottage industry, St. Eval pride themselves on preserving and utilising their heritage, putting craftsmanship and artisan skills at the heart of what they do.

St. Eval use solar, wind and biomass energies, all generated on their farm, to power everything they do. Their packaging is all 100% recyclable or, even better, can be repurposed. Team Janet Bell can vouch for their successes reusing candle holders as flower pots, or tins for storage and organising. In 20221, they even won a Queen’s Award for Sustainability.

All of the fragrances produced by St. Eval are inspired by their (pretty spectacular) surroundings and captured in hand-poured wax.

To keep your candles at their best, and to get the most from them, we suggest that you: ensure the wick is kept trimmed, avoid burning candles in draughty burn candles for 3-4 hours at a time (or 1-2 hours for tealights), and, make sure there is a liquid pool of wax covering the entire surface of the candle from edge to edge before the candle is extinguished.

Burn time up to 45 hours.
