Hello again,

I was born in Cheshire. As a child I spent many summers playing on the beaches of North Wales and Denmark surrounded by beach huts, white sands, colourful houses,, fishing boats and harbours. These are things that inspired me from a very young age and still do today. I have always loved to create, make and draw so naturally I studied Art at North East Wales Institute of Art & Design, then went on to study Multi Media Textiles & Painting in Manchester, graduating in 1997.

I started painting prolifically after moving to the South Coast in 2000 and began exhibiting in London and Brighton where I lived at the time. I have since moved back up North and am currently setting myself up in the picturesque town of Beaumaris, Anglesey.

I am represented by galleries in many towns and cities throughout the UK with paintings in many private, public and corporate collections.

I am published by The Art Group, Milkwood Publishing (incorporating Whistlefish galleries in Cornwall) and Internationally by Graham and Brown Ltd.

l travel to Scandinavia at least once a year but I am hugely inspired by my regular trips to the coast all around the UK. Everything about seaside life inspires me, the delightful houses, harbours, boats, bunting, lighthouses and even the cheeky seagulls. I love travelling around the seaside towns and villages in the UK. Places in particular that I love are Marazion, Llanddwyn Island, Mousehole, Portmeirion, Aberdyfi, Southwold, Lokken, Lonstrup, Skagen, St Ives and of course Beaumaris.

Colour is very important to me and I try to mix a personal and individual palette often spending a long time mixing exactly the right shade of blue. Through familiarity and memory I try to represent these places in my style, whilst at the same time conveying the atmosphere. I also like to inject a certain amount of me into my paintings with an often happy and sometimes quirky result! My main objective though is to make people smile!
